Seirbhísí Speisialtóra Luathbhlianta

Tá triúr speisialtóirí luathbhlianta fostaithe ag Altram (beirt acu lonnaithe i mBéal Feirste agus duine eile i nDoire) agus speisialtóir réigiúnach tacaíochta do chlár na luathbhlianta lán-Ghaeilge a oibríonn leis an Chlár do Phaistí 2-3 bliain d’aois (P2YO).

Cuirtear seirbhísí speisialtóra luathbhlianta agus tacaíocht ar fáil do gach suíomh luathbhlianta atá lonnaithe sna sé chontae (52 faoi láthair). Tá cuid de na tionscnaimh atá san áireamh suite sna bhardaí is mó atá faoi mhíbhuntáiste de réir an Bhord Sláinte agus Chúram Leanaí. Déantar comhcheangail le tionscadail úra, tionscadail nach bhfuil bunaithe i bhfad agus soláthróirí seanbhunaithe.

Cuireann foireann na speisialtóirí luathbhlianta traenáil cnuasoiliúna agus imeachtaí líonraithe ar fáil, chomh maith le hacmhainní i nGaeilge atá dírithe ar an churaclam leis an chlár teanga agus súgradh.

 

Cuireann foireann na speisialtóirí luathbhlianta seirbhís ar ardchaighdeán agus torthaí ardleibhéil do pháistí chun chinn:

  • Cuirtear tacaíocht speisialtóra luathbhlianta ar fáil, chomh maith le tacaíocht spriocdhírithe agus comhairle de réir mar atá sé de dhíth
  • Ag soláthar chomhairle luathbhlianta a thacaíonn le comhlíonadh bhunchaighdeáin an DHSSPS maidir le Curam Lae agus le Curam Leanaí do pháistí níos óige ná 12. Gliogáil anseo le cóip de na bunchaighdeáin a fháil: Minimum-Standards-2012 agus anseo le cóip de na treoirlínte feidhmiú a íoslódáil: Implementation-Guidance-Version-3-Childminding-October-2016

  • Cuirtear traenáil luathbhlianta agus deiseanna líonraithe ar fáil d’fhoirne san earnáil luathbhlianta lán-Ghaeilge – laethanta cnuasoiliúna agus traenáil inseirbhíse san áireamh.

  • Cuirtear traenáil chosaint leanaí agus traenáil oifigeach ceaptha ar fáil i gcomhar leis an bhord sláinte agus ‘Volunteer Now’
  • Spreagtar grúpaí luathbhlianta lán-Ghaeilge le hidirghníomhú le SureStart ina gceantair féin, an Clár P2YO san áireamh
  • Déantar teagmháil le seirbhísí éagsúla e.g. sláinte fiacla, teiripe cainte, banaltra cheantair
  • Aithnítear riachtanais traenála agus treoraítear naíscoileanna chuig na háisíneachtaí cuí

 

Sa bhreis air sin, déanann an fhoireann forbairt ar inniúlacht agus acmhainní:

  • Cuirtear acmhainní dírithe den ardchaighdeán a chur ar fáil le tacú le traenáil agus riachtanais forbartha, pacáistí teanga foirne, ábhar luathbhlianta agus catalóga smaointe san áireamh.
  • Déanfar forbairt ar sheirbhís na Leabharlanna Bhreagán agus Leabhar, tríd mheasúnú ar aischothú agus maoiniú cuí a lorg
  • Cuirtear tacaíocht bainistíochta agus inniúlachta do choistí bainistíochta agus foirne sinsearacha, agus cuirtear traenáil ar fáil atá dírithe ar shaincheisteanna e.g. maoiniú agus forbairt straitéiseach
  • Cuirtear seirbhísí sínithe Access NI agus comhairle maidir le próiseas grinnfhiosrúcháin ar fáil do ghrúpaí
  • Tugtar tacaíocht maidir le forbairt suímh gréasáin Altram le cinntiú go bhfuil eolas uasdátaithe ar fáil do na naíscoileanna maidir le: cúrsaí curaclam; polasaithe; traenáil; smaointe téamacha; gníomhaíochtaí agus acmhainní
  • Baintear úsáid as líonraithe sóisialta leis an fhoireann a chur ar an eolais maidir le himeachtaí, traenáil, seirbhísí, taighde agus smaointe eile a bhaineann lena gcleachtas
  • Cuirtear grúpaí ar an eolas faoi dheiseanna maoinithe.
Early years specialist services

Altram employs three early years support specialists (two based in the Belfast office and one in Derry) and one regional Irish-medium early years programme support specialist who works with the Programme for Two Year Olds (P2YO).

These employees provide early years specialist and support services to all Irish Language early years settings in the North (currently 52). They include projects in some of the most deprived wards in all Health and Social Care Board areas and combine new and less well established projects and  long standing providers.

The early years team also delivers cluster training and networking events and develops targeted support materials in Irish that relate to the play and language programme.

 

The early years team promotes high quality provision and high level outcomes for children by:

  • Delivering early years specialist support and targeted outreach early years support and advice where and as required
  • Providing early years advice to support compliance with DHSSPS's Minimum Standards for Day Care and Childminding for Children Under Age 12.   • Providing early years training and networking opportunities for staff in Irish-medium early years groups in the area, including specific cluster days and in-service training
  • Providing child protection and designated officer training in conjunction with the Trust and Volunteer Now
  • Encouraging Irish language early years groups to interact with SureStart in their areas, including the P2YO
  • Engaging with different services i.e dental health, speech therapy, health visitors
  • Identifying training needs and directing naíscoileanna to relevant agencies

In addition, the team develops capacity and resources by:

  • Providing targeted high quality resources to support training and development needs including staff language packs, early years materials and ideas catalogues
  • Developing the Toy and Book Library service, through evaluation of and feedback on the service and by acquiring sufficient resources
  • Providing capacity and management support to management committees and senior staff and providing networking and targeted training around key issues e.g. funding and strategic development
  • Providing ACCESS NI counter signatory services and advice with regards to vetting procedures to groups
  • Supporting the development of the Altram website to ensure up to date information for naíscoileanna on: curriculum issues; policies; training; thematic ideas; activities and resources
  • Using social networking to inform staff of events, training, services, research and ideas relevant to their practice
  • Informing groups of funding opportunities
