Getting ready for the GDPR
Data Protection law is changing on 25 May 2018 and all organisations need to be ready for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Information Commissioner’s Office has produced a range of tools to help you prepare. These are available online at: https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/business/
The Childcare Partnership (CCP) has been running courses on this and is hoping to run more in the future. Keep an eye on the training section of the CCP website. NICVA also has training on the GDPR, follow this link for further information: http://www.nicva.org/gdpr.

Tharla comhdháil Altram - Na Luathbhlianta Gaeilge - Na Buntáistí agus na Dúshláin - ar 27.10.2017. Bhí lá spreagthach ann le scaifte mór daoine (80) ó na hearnálacha: luathbhlianta Gaeilge; tumoideachais agus luathbhlianta. Thug An t-Ollamh Antonella Sorace ón Ollscoil Dún Éideann léargas an-spéisiúil ar an dátheangachas agus bhí ionchur Gerry Conway úsáideach agus ábhartha le plean soiléir don earnáil ag dul ar aghaidh. Labhair Áine Andrews faoi cháipéis nua - ábhar tacaíochta d'earnáil na luathbhlianta Gaeilge forbartha ag Altram maidir le CCEA Revised Curricular Guidance for Preschool Education 2017. Bhí an plé foscáilte bríomhar le cuid mhór ceisteanna agus moltaí.
Bhí taispeántas grianghrafadóireacht a thaispeán sa
ol sa naíscoileanna ann fosta - bhí rannpháirtaithe ábalta tumoideachas a fheiceáil ag feidhmiú trí na grianghraif.

Altram's conference - Irish-medium Early Years - the Benefits and Challenges - took place on 27.10.2017. It was an inspirational day with a large crowd of people (80) from the: Irish-medium early years; immersion education and early years sectors. Professor Antonella Sorace from the University of Edinburgh gave a fascinating insight into bilingualism and Gerry Conway's input was useful and relevant with a clear plan for the sector going forward.
Áine Andrews spoke about a new document - a support document for the Irish-medium early years developed by Altram relating to CCEA Revised Curricular Guidance for Preschool Education 2017. The open discussion was lively with a lot of questions and suggestions.
There was also a photography exhibition which showed life in the naíscoileanna – participants were able to see immersion education in action through the photographs.
